[Reos] RWF 2021 - Petting Zoo - Arland and Cecil
Cecil felt quite out of place at the petting zoo. He never was a big fan of animals, except when they were food, and besides, his amazingly cool and moody style stuck out like a sore thumb in this sea of cute critters and playful children. Still, he had a reason to be here. Arland was supposedly bringing some baby yaks and reindeer here, and the old Chaser had become a good friend of his over the years. It wasn't often that Cecil visited Roenden, so it had been a while since he'd seen the farmer; the fair was good opportunity to catch up with the cheery man. Weaving his way through the crowd, he reached a tent standing amidst the regular tents in the petting zoo, and was hit by a cool blast of air as he stepped into space housing various animals native to Roenden. There was even some snow here, which crunched underfoot as the Runner beelined towards a pale blue Chaser standing atop some boxes, who was busy giving a large yak an affectionate pat. "Arland!" The Chaser swiveled around

Oatmeal, Mochi and Matcha had just arrived at the fair, and while the hustle and bustle of some tents nearby were quite alluring, what ultimately piqued their interest was a large area of fenced ground. A Puller could be seen at a little stall near one of the gates, and when she spotted the trio, she eagerly waved them over. "Hello there, name's Varia, and you lot look like fine strong youngsters. So how about it, up for a game of rounding up livestock? Only a ticket per head for entry!" The three exchanged glances, intrigued but uncertain. "Uh... so how does the game work?" Matcha asked, eyeing the various animals in the pen behind the Puller. "Of course; I should've told you the rules first," laughed Varia, bringing up her paw to her forehead. "So, the aim is to catch as many of the livestock as you can in 5 minutes. Each small animal you bring in is worth 1 point, while big ones are worth 3! Depending on the number of points you get, I'll let you pick from some of my

"HELLLLOOOO EVERYONE! I'm Fable, your emcee for today, and welcome, one and all, to the Fair Race! This event challenges our esteemed competitors to an exciting race course that changes daily! Yes, you heard that right: DAILY! Every morning, the day's route is posted up on our announcement boards, and everyone has until the evening to get their practice laps in!" Aelen flicked her ear, pawing at the ground rather impatiently as the Chaser emcee went on their spiel and hyped the audience. "...but today's race could be rather tricky! As you all know, we had a spot of rain a little earlier, and that has added a whole new dimension of hazards to this course! I sure hope our competitors can think quick on their feet. In fact! We are starting in! 3! 2! 1! GO! LET'S GET READY TO R-R-R-RUMBLLLLLEEEEE!!!" Wasn't this a race, not a fight...? Though Aelen supposed that it didn't matter, since it riled the spectators up all the same. The shrieking and roaring was almost deafening as she and

At first, the loud crash was what caught their attention. The sounds of alarmed (and angry…?) screaming that followed caused them to quicken their pace. And when Lumeni and Willomia turned the corner, they were met with the sight of a Zataro impaled on the end of a comically large skewer of meat, on which hung a now-crooked sign: “Bullet’s Flaming Hot Skewers!”. It would have been a grisly sight, if the monster hadn’t just been a multi-coloured caricature of the actual beast. More pressing at the moment, however, were the two stall owners squabbling right underneath the impromptu landmark. “Ay! Whaddaya think yer doin’, pokin’ at me stall wit’ that stupid stick a’ yers?” demanded a Tyrian, who was sporting an eyepatch and a worn set of leather armour. “Oh, you can drop the act, you old fogey. The least you could do after dropping that stuffed toy right on top of my stall is to talk normally,” scoffed a Vayron, presumably Bullet, her bandana and apron thoroughly stained with grease.

[Reos] Feb 2021 Prompt - Willomia
"Agh, this is a disaster!" Willomia anxiously combed her claws through her tousled hair as surveyed the damage that had been done to her precious library. A mess of books had been scattered across the lacquered wood flooring, many of them open with their pages possibly creased beyond repair. For the books still on the shelves, they had been completely remixed - she found an anatomy book on her home economics shelf, although the medical references were three entire bookshelves away. Thankfully, the chaos was mostly localised to one section, at least for now. Though there was also an awful smell that permeated the once pine-fresh library, and this was, perhaps, the greatest loss. She had just woken up and come down to the library to study as she always did only to find such a disaster waiting for her. Understandably, she was a little freaked out, even fearing that a thief might’ve absconded with some of the more valuable manuscripts, but after taking a few deep breaths, Willow quickly

[Reos] Feb 2021 Prompt - Lolong
A flock of birds squawked overhead as Lolong stirred from his sleep, bleary eyes glaring disdainfully at the birds as the sound of noisy flapping gradually faded into the distance. Letting out a long yawn as he stretched, Lolong noticed that it was still dark out, the sun almost invisible on the horizon. The soothing calm was interrupted yet again by another flock of birds, their cries sounding out over the swamp as they burst out from the treeline. They had emerged from somewhere pretty close to Lolong, near enough to have left behind a flurry of feathers to rain down on his head. The Tyrian, now fully awake, licked his lips, and carefully stalked towards the place the birds had emerged from, eager to take a bite out of the foolish interloper who had dared to step into his territory. Well, that was the plan, at least. After a few minutes spent creeping around in the foliage, realisation soon dawned on Lolong - his unfortunate target didn’t exist at all. Or perhaps, they escaped
